Alhamdulillah, my time as one of the committee members of the Malaysian Students Association for the year 2014/15 is almost over. Other than our last meeting this weekend [insyaAllah], my work is all done, and I’m so thankful for that.
So what did I do for MSA throughout my time as Webmaster? [Well, to be honest, my role is more than just Webmaster, since I’m also the Photographer, as usual.]
A big portion of my time revolved around these two websites: Our Facebook page, and our website / blog. Taking pictures during events, and posting them up on the Facebook page & updating our website. Also, during certain events, there’s also the need of recording & editing videos and posting them up on UW-Madison MSA YouTube page.
There’s also the responsibilities during the events themselves, like helping to set up, or advertising the event, or handling the event, or things like that.
One thing we wanted to try out this year was the MSA Presidential Debate. Instead of having everyone coming a place and having a traditional debate, we decided to have a Google Hangout on Air session, so that members can watch from wherever they are and it wouldn’t force them to come to campus at night.
All in all, it’s been a fun time. Tiring at times, yes, but fun.
So one of the last and biggest events that we had was the MSA Graduation Night last Saturday. We had a Great Gatsby themed party at the Union and it was a tiring event. Despite the problems that we faced just before the event, it went well and everyone seemed to have fun.
So, yeah, that’s pretty much what I wanted to write about for now. Until next time, stay awesome!
[Future posts in mind that I will need to talk about: #ProjekInspirasi, Spring break weekend getaway to Indiana, my personal response to a particular tweet by TweetUniversiti about Malaysian students studying abroad, and a bunch of random rants]
