Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, #LetsReadCampaign

Assalamualaikum,

Okay, for the first book review in the #LetsReadChallenge, I’ll write about a new book that I’ve recently read, which is Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, by Ransom Riggs.

My ex-lecturer, Mr Kamal, suggested that I read this book on our iftar ‘date’ about a week or two ago. We were at Empire Gallery Subang, and while waiting for Maghrib, we decided to pay a visit to Popular. As we were looking at the books on display, he mentioned that this particular book is a good one, and that I should try reading it one day.

Knowing Mr Kamal, I knew that I’d like his suggestions, so I went and bought it straight away. Though I didn’t think I would actually read it straight away, considering how I have like 40++ books on my shelf in my room, waiting to be read since I bought them over a year ago. But somehow, once I started reading this particular book, I couldn’t stop.

I’m not much of a fan of thriller / mystery kind of book, but somehow this book managed to catch my attention. And in less than four hours, I managed to finish off all 352 pages of this book.

Here’s the short summary of the book, as written at the back of the book:

It is a super nice read, and I don’t want to write anything else, in case I get carried away and spoil things for you. But I really do suggest you to go and read this book, especially if you’re a fan of YA (young adult) fiction, or a Fantasy / thriller / mystery booklovers.
