A dream is a wish…

Assalamualaikum,

Face it: If you know me well enough, you will know for sure that every single day, I will spend at least half an hour to one hour watching something on Netflix or on my laptop. It would either be catching up on some TV series (Vampire Diaries, Scandal, How to get away with murder, etc), or rewatching my favorite movies / animes (ie Mulan, Lion King, Sword Art Online, FMA, Kuroko No Basuke, Saiyuki, Tangled, etc).

...And I will fight, until the day I see you again.
…And I will fight, until the day I see you again.

And yeah, don’t get me started on how I spend my weekend in bed, watching Netflix (NOT Netflix and chill, okay) all day long. ‘Cause I do that, sometimes (if not most of the time). I mean, seriously. Who can focus on studying for hours without stopping? I have a life other than that, y’know?

Previously, I’ve written a bunch of posts that were inspired from either 1) Disney movies or 2) Anime. Some examples are:

1) Just be true to yourself

2) Alive but dead.

3) Nothing beats cultivating talent.

4) And I will fight…

And I’m guessing this list would keep on growing. I mean, you can learn a lot from Disney/Pixar movies, and even from animes. They might be for entertainment purposes, but if you really stop and think about it, there are lessons that can definitely be applied to real life. And yes, there are some good and bad to these movies / animes (like, seriously, who marries someone they just met, like, y’know, that day?)

I don’t know. One may grow up, and one may be busy with work and studies and everything, but sometimes, it’s just fun and relaxing to sit back and rewatch the good, old Disney movies. I can watch them over and over again, but I would never get bored of them. I mean, hey, who can get bored of watching Mushu making a fool of himself.

“Who am I? Who am I? I am the guardian of lost souls! I am the powerful, the pleasurable, the indestructible Mushu!”

Or what about Ralph and his wanting-to-be-good bad guy phase?

“I am bad, and that’s good. I will never be good, but that’s not bad. There’s no one I rather be than me.”

Or let’s talk about how the old baboon who tells us how to get on with life?

“Oh yes, the past can hurt. But from the way I see it, you can either run from it, or learn from it.”

So, yeah, even if you’re busy with work or studies or anything, remember to always take some time out and relax. Enjoy an old movie or too, relive your childhood. Remember life when it was not bombarded with responsibilities, or worries, for the rest of your days. (geddit geddit lol hakuna matata!)

Alright then, stay awesome people! 🙂
