Assalamualaikum,
So, remember about 3 years ago when I did the Radiance21 Scholarship Project for my 21st Birthday? That was cool, no? I mean, raising a total of RM15,600 within a month and converting it into a scholarship on SkolaFund was pretty lit, no?
But you wanna know what’s even cooler?
How about trying to raise RM1,000,000 within a month to make higher education accessible to students from less privileged backgrounds?
Yes, you read it right.ย That’s RM1 million.
Crazy, right? But isn’t it cool? At first, it may seem a little far-fetched and impossible, but, hey, think about it. We don’t need big donations or anything like that.
All we need is 100,000 believers out there who are willing to donate RM10 each to support this. That’s not that bad, right? I mean, we have like 30+ million people in Malaysia, with around 14-15 million or so working adults. We’re only looking for 100,000 kind-hearted souls, that’s all.
Are you one of them? Please say yes ๐
You can read more about SkolaFund’s Big Community Scholarship Fundraiser on their page here. They explained (in greater detail) about why they’ve started this campaign, where the money would go to, who would be eligible to apply for the community scholarships and other important things, so do check it out! ๐
So far, in the first ten days (as of time of writing), they’ve raised RM34,214 from 1,093 kind-hearted souls. That’s an average of RM31.30/sponsor, which is triple the original RM10/sponsor they had in mind.
There are 20 more days to go until the end of the campaign, and we’re in need of just 96,579 more souls to pledge RM10 to help make higher education accessible to everyone.
And even if you are not financially able to support this campaign, we do hope that you can help us share it out with your friends and families, colleagues and college-mates. We need all the help we can get to spread the news to as many people as possible, and, as the name suggest, it is a community fundraiser and we need the community to help share the news.
So do share the words out, and, if you are able to and believe in the power of education to help change the country, do sponsor now!
Until next time, stay awesome peeps!
